The Huron County Board of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ goal is to decrease stigma associated with mental health and to provide services and support for those who need them. The Board wants to remind anyone who may be struggling that “you are not alone, you matter, and don’t give up”.
Now through the end of the month – The American Red Cross is in need of blood and platelet donations. Anyone who donates will receive a limited-edition Red Cross T-shirt and a coupon for a free haircut from Sports Clips. Plus they’ll be entered for a chance to win a VIP NASCAR racing experience. Saturday 9th through Sunday October 29th – It’s the Main Street Vermilion Art Gallery’s Fall Show. They’ll have paintings, photography, ceramics, jewelry, t-shirts, and much more. Hours for the event are noon until 4pm on weekends and 10am until 4pm on weekdays.

The Enrichment Centers for Huron County are asking for caring individuals to sponsor meals for seniors in Huron County. Your donation of $25 will provide hot meals to a senior for a week. If you would like to help sponsors a senior or seniors you can send a check to the Enrichments Centers of go to their website SFAConnection.org and click on the donate button.
The Huron County Veteran Service Commission is holding their Mandatory Monthly meeting on the 1st Monday of each month starting at 10am. Also, a work session meeting will be held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 10am.
Oberlin Community Services are now allowing people to have more control with their weekly choice food pantry. The in-person choice pantry runs from 1:30-3:45 p.m. each Friday at 285 S. Professor St., Oberlin. The Huron County Sheriff’s Office is implementing Project Lifesaver. Which is a project designed to protect and locate missing persons who have wandered from their homes. Through the use of a wristband with a unique radio frequency. They will monitor the program and participants, oversee battery replacement, and insure the system is operating properly.
