A Norwalk woman died in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on U.S. 250, near Kalahari.
Amber Schaffer was 26.
The State Highway Patrol says Schaffer drove left-of-center for unknown reasons and struck the left side of a commercial vehicle…which caused her car to careen off the right side of the road.
A man from Lorain…wanted for a parole violation…faces new charges after an 8-hour standoff with deputies at a home on East 39th in Sheffield Township.
The Sheriff’s Office says, 31 year old Christopher Young threatened to harm himself, but surrendered peacefully late yesterday afternoon.
NASA’s Orion Spacecraft made its trek Tuesday morning from Mansfield to NASA Plum Brook Station in Sandusky.
The spacecraft, carried by a large semi, went through the village of Milan and into a back entrance of Plum Brook on Mason Road.
NASA says that Orion will undergo some final tests in Sandusky before their Artemis-1 launch into space in 2020, with a goal of landing on the moon.
Another day, another scam…this time, in Amherst…
Police say, someone with a heavy Indian accent is calling residents, claiming to be from the Amherst Police department, fishing for personal information.
Again, police say, this is a SCAM.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has awarded over $345,000 in grants to more than 60 local police departments to purchase body armor vests.
In Erie County…four agencies were given a total of over $50,000.
In Huron County…five agencies received more than $60,000 combined.
Huron County Public Health has issued some Thanksgiving safety tips regarding food preparation.
They say to cook your turkey to 165-degrees, makes sure to wash your hands before food-prepping…and to prevent Salmonella cross-contamination by fully cleaning and sanitizing your sink and other surfaces if you handle your raw turkey there…and before prepping any other Thanksgiving sides and dishes in the sink.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has announced…the historic Marblehead Lighthouse will remain closed for repairs through the winter, although its beacon will remain active.
The state hopes to re-open the lighthouse prior to Memorial Day.
The highways and byways will be busy through Sunday.
For the fourth year in a row, Triple A expects the highest Thanksgiving travel volume in Ohio since 2005.
And…ODOT expects a 63-percent increase in traffic during the holiday weekend.

The city of Willard has announced the dates of the 4th annual ‘Fill the Fire Truck’ food and toy drive.
The Willard fire and police departments are again teaming together to collect items on December 14th and 15th at the fire department.
Food will be donated to the Willard Area Food Bank…and toys will benefit local families; courtesy of the Salvation Army Willard branch.
