A look at COVID numbers…

…45 new reported cases in Huron County on Wednesday

…3,800 cases statewide on Wednesday, compared to the 21-day rolling average of 4,100


Erie County saw 295 new reported cases of COVID-19 during a recent 7-day period.

According to the Sandusky Register and Erie County Health Department, those cases contained 4 new outbreaks.

Those outbreaks included one at a wedding, the Sandusky Schools homecoming dance, at Providence Care Center and at Firelands Regional Medical Center.


Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted paid a visit to Norwalk on Wednesday. 

According to Norwalk Ohio, Husted was in The Maple City to talk about a $5 million state grant given to the city that will go towards a project that aims to stop untreated human sewage from going into water streams.


The name of a firefighter from Columbia Township who died 2 years ago has been added to the Lorain County First Responders Memorial.

Brett Wilson was 23.

Wilson came in contact with ‘live wires’ when he responded to a car crash on Sprague Road.


A resident of Lorain faces drug charges…

The U-S Marshall’s Office says, 43 year old Brian Hitchens of Clifton Avenue is accused of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound.

Lorain Police say, they seized oxycodone pills, guns and 40-thousand-dollars-in-cash during the raid.


Today, the Lorain County Commissioners will resume their annual budget hearings.

A blessing…for the Blessing House…off of North Ridge Road…

…a 3-thousand-dollar blessing…from the LaGrange Lions Club and the Hornby Family Foundation…money raised during Friday fish fries this month.

The Blessing House provides shelter for children of families in crisis.


Today, the Second Harvest Food Bank will host a drive-thru mobile food pantry.

It’ll be held at Lorain High school on Ashland Avenue from 4:30 until 6 pm.


After a year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 10th annual Sandusky Witches Walk was held on Wednesday afternoon downtown.  

According to the Sandusky Register, the event, which features participants dressed up like witches, looked to raise over $11,000.

…That money going to Sandusky Rec’s summer youth program and Meals on Wheels.


A couple of community Halloween events are scheduled for this evening. 

Tester Ford in Norwalk is hosting their 3rd annual ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ from 4:30 to 6 pm.

Bellevue Safe Halloween gets going at 6 pm at Mad River and NKP Railroad Museum, which follows the Bellevue Halloween Parade.
