A Sandusky man is charged with murder in the death of a Norwalk man.

According to the Sandusky Register, 28-year-old Branden Murphy was discovered Friday with signs of gunshot wounds and a dog attack.

Murphy was found on the road near the Polk Street home in Sandusky of the murder suspect, 35-year-old Brian Lewis.

After being found, Murphy was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.


Fisher-Titus in Norwalk will be holding Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination booster clinics throughout this month.

Eligible individuals can self-schedule for these clinics at Fisher Titus-dot-org-slash-schedule; as appointments are required.

Clinics for Pfizer boosters will take place:

  • This Tuesday
  • This Thursday
  • Friday, October 22nd
  • and Wednesday, October 27th


In COVID numbers…

Huron County saw 16 new reported cases on Sunday.

Statewide, nearly 5,400 new cases were reported Sunday, just under the rolling 21-day average of 5,700.

New information from the Ohio department of Health indicates…nearly 51-percent of Ohioans are full vaccinated for COVID 19. In Lorain County, it’s 55-percent.


A road closure in Monroeville…

Route 547, between Routes 99 and 20, is closing today for repairs to railroad crossings.

Detour routes are planned.

The work is estimated to be finished by October 22nd.


A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned today for a Sandusky-area outpatient addiction treatment facility.

The event will take place at 11:30 am at Brightview on East Perkins Avenue.

A reception and open house will follow from 12 noon to 5 pm.


Elyria Mayor frank Whitfield says, there is still time to join the city’s first so-called Hack-a-Thon, the weekend of October 22nd.

A hack-a-thon is a “crowd sourced working conference” that addresses a community’s key issues…

Mayor Whitfield says, the hack-a-thon will address half-a-dozen issues, including…

  • Job Training
  • and Parks and green space.
