The procession route and funeral arrangements have been announced for United States Navy Fleet Marine Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class, 22-year-old Max Soviak of Berlin Heights, who was killed in a terrorist attack in Afghanistan late last month.

The public procession will begin at the Route 250 exit off the Ohio Turnpike and travel south on 250 to Route 113 east through Milan, passing Edison High School. It will then go north on Berlin Road to West Main Street in Berlin Heights, east to Route 61, south on Route 61, and end at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be this Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm at the Edison High School Fieldhouse.

Soviak’s funeral service will take place next Monday the 13th at the Edison High School football stadium at 11 am.

Close to 4,000 cases were reported statewide, the lowest amount in about a week.

Huron County saw 38 new reported cases.

A Sandusky woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Sunday in Perkins Township.

Sarah Daniels was 37.

The State Highway Patrol says Daniels was driving on Route 250 near Mall Drive; when she traveled left of center and struck a traffic light pole head on.

One dead, one seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash in Huron County…

According to authorities, it happened last night on Drake Road near Hill Road in Ridgefield Township, when 31-year-old Jonathon Downing of Norwalk was seriously hurt when he failed to negotiate a curve and his motorcycle overturned.

A passenger with Jonathon, 32-year-old Sarah Downing of Norwalk, was killed.

Elyria Police continue their investigation into last week’s homicide on Broad Street in downtown Elyria.

20-year-old Yadiel Torres was found early Friday morning…on the sidewalk… shot in the head.

Police are asking anyone with any information about the shooting to call the Detective’s Bureau.

Meanwhile…police in Lorain are investigating a separate shooting on Elyria Avenue.

It happened yesterday morning at about 5 o’clock…with 23-year-old Rovon Scales taken to Mercy Health Lorain.

Police in Lorain are asking you to call the Detective Bureau, if you have any information regarding Sunday morning’s shooting that injured two police auxiliary officers.

The drive-by shooting occurred on East 34th after the officers wrapped up their night’s work.

Both men were in uniform, but driving one of their personal cars.

Construction on a roundabout in Huron County is scheduled to start today.

The intersection of Routes 20 and 601 will close for two months.

Norwalk’s street resurfacing project is set to resume today.

Milling and paving are scheduled for Indian Terrace, Foster, and possibly West Main.

Residents are asked to not park in the affected streets until work is finished.

Skeeter season is still with us, and tonight, weather permitting, Lorain County Public Health will roll out its truck in North Ridgeville.

Mosquito spraying is scheduled from 8:30 until 11:30 tonight.

They say, the spray is NOT harmful to people, animals, nor plants.

New vehicles are in short supply across the nation, and that shortage can be seen in new-vehicle-sales here in northern Ohio.

According to the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association, sales were down in August by nearly 16-percent from a year ago.
