No one was hurt in a house fire in Norwalk early Tuesday morning.

The Norwalk Reflector reports that the blaze took place on Spring Street, with 4 cats saved from the house.

Close to $100,000 in damage was done.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.


COVID-19 cases are on the rise again across the country…in some areas…up 100-percent from a few days ago.

Health officials blame the increase, in part, on the spread of the so-called delta variant.

Today, the Ohio Department of Health will host a news conference on that very subject.


In Huron County COVID-19 numbers…

According to Norwalk Ohio, 4 new cases were reported on Tuesday.

The death toll remains at 122.


The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is now offering a reward, for information leading to the arrest of two men who escaped from the Lorain-Medina Community-Based Correctional Facility.

35-year-old Kevin McKittrick of Elyria and 21-year-old Justin Hamilton of Vermilion took-it-on-the-lam June 29th.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is encouraged to call the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.


In Willard…

Due to waterline work, the intersection of Spring and Keefer Streets, just north of the underpass, will be closed this morning; starting around 8:00 am.

Drivers are asked to take an alternate route.


The Perkins Police Department has organized a school and pet supply drive to remember and honor fallen Toledo Police officers, Anthony Dia and Brandon Stalker.

Items collected will go to Toledo Children’s Hospital and Humane Society.

Donations can be dropped off to the Perkins PD lobby through next Wednesday, the 21st.


Tyson Foods on Cooper Foster Park Road in Amherst will host a 2-day job-fair, July 23rd and 24th.

The facility has more than 500 workers…and they’re looking to hire another 200.

And…for the second time in a year…they’ve boosted starting-pay for various shifts.

The State of Ohio Library Association has announced; they are transitioning to a new delivery system, and the transition is not going well.

The Association maintains, the change will result in better service in the long run.

Last night’s ‘Movies by the Bay’ at Sandusky’s Jackson Street Pier was rained out.

It’s been rescheduled for this evening at 7pm.
