Authorities have found the car they believe belongs to a shooting suspect in connection with the death of a Sandusky man on Saturday.

According to the Sandusky Register, 34-year-old Elisha Cannon of Sandusky died at the hospital after being found shot on South Larchmont Drive.

The car was found in Seneca County, but the unidentified suspect(s) still remain at large, says police.


A New London man was killed in a one vehicle crash on Friday.

Charles Hawes was 61.

The Lorain Morning Journal and State Highway Patrol report that Hawes was driving on New London Eastern Road in Rochester Township where he went off the road and hit a utility pole.


An Elyria man faces charges of rape and kidnapping, from a case in Cleveland that dates back to 1999.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office says, they used ‘genealogical D-N-A testing” to identify 50-year-old Bart Mercurio of the Sherwood Forest Apartments on Georgetown Avenue, as a suspect in the attack.


Former Avon Fire Chief Frank Root Junior has been sentenced to 6 months in jail and 3 years probation for possessing child pornography…

Root is 82-years-old…he had pled ‘no contest’ to several charges.

Retirement is on the mind of Norwalk Police Chief Mike Conney.

According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, Conney has filed an ‘intent to retire’ letter, and will announce his retirement date in the near future.

Conney has worked for the Norwalk PD for the past 31 years, and has been chief since June of 2018.

The Stuff the Bus Erie County Committee is asking for the community’s assistance to help provide hundreds of backpacks to local students entering grades K to 8 within the school districts in Erie County.

Anyone wishing to donate new backpacks and school supplies can drop them off to several locations throughout Erie County, which are listed on the website, vlfcu.org/stuffthebus (VacationLand Federal Credit Union’s Website).

The deadline is August 2nd.
