Sandusky Police are investigating a fatal shooting.
According to the Sandusky Register…34-year-old Elisha Cannon, a Sandusky man, was shot Saturday morning on South Larchmont Drive; later dying at the hospital.
Police believe the suspect drove away in a black Ford car.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sandusky PD.
Authorities in Norwalk are investigating apparent break-ins of multiple businesses on Benedict Avenue last month.
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, police are looking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video.
One business owner said that money and other things had been taken, with signs of forcible entry reported at other businesses.
In Medina County, heavy rains yesterday resulted in hazardous conditions along the Black River at Lodi Community Park.
About 30 people who had earlier walked across the river were stranded until they were guided out of the park without coming back across the high waters.
Firefighters helped 4 people to safety.
A pair of road work projects are scheduled to get going today in Huron County…
The Route 18 entrance ramp to Route 20 is closing for resurfacing. Detours have been set. The road is expected to reopen by this Saturday.
Also, Route 303 between Route 60 and Hanford Road, is closing for a culvert replacement project. Detours are planned. It’s scheduled to reopen this Friday.
Tonight, Avon Lake City Council is scheduled to consider whether to accept a 500-thousand-dollar state grant, to build a fish-cleaning station at Miller Road park.
The state wants to build stations in Avon Lake, Huron and Marblehead.
The one in Avon Lake would be built adjacent to the current office-area and restrooms….which would also be renovated.
Road work in Milan is planned to start up today.
Route 601, from Route 113 to the south corporation limit, will have single lane closures for a Safe Routes to School project.
Traffic will be maintained by flaggers, with crews excavating for sidewalk installation, reconstructing curb ramps, and performing traffic signal work.
It’s estimated to be completed in August.
Village officials are asking everyone to remove parked cars from the streets by 7 o’clock tomorrow morning.
That’s when workers will clean the village streets.
Second Harvest Food Bank brings their mobile food pantry to Erie County today.
Huron High School will be the site from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.
Detour signs are going up today on Capel Road near Route 83 for a culvert replacement.
Weather permitting, Capel will reopen Friday.
O-DOT says, traffic on Route 83 will not be impacted.
Filming is scheduled to begin today in downtown Wellington, for the motion picture, “White Noise”, starring two-time Oscar-nominee Adam Driver.
The intersection of Routes 58 and 18 will be closed through Wednesday morning.

Today, the Lorain County Joint Vocational School will host an informational program on “Medical Assisting Certificate” classes offered by Lorain County Community College.
The in-demand program will expand to the J-V-S, in time for the fall semester.
Today’s information session will begin at 5 at the Joint Vocational School.
-The Cleveland Indians home game against Kansas City was rained out yesterday. They’ll make it up in September. The MLB All-Star Break begins today, with the Indians back at it on Friday in Oakland.
