Lorain County’s 9-1-1 system is back online.

It was offline last night for about half an hour, in the 9 o’clock hour.

In area COVID-19 numbers…

Erie County saw no new deaths and 85 new cases from April 23rd through 30th. The death toll remains at 209.

In Huron County, 6 new cases were reported from Saturday to Sunday, with the death toll remaining at 118.

Three people were treated for minor injuries…when the vehicle of a suspect that was allegedly fleeing from authorities sideswiped a minivan and struck a Sandusky Police cruiser head-on.

It took place Friday afternoon at the intersection of Hayes Avenue and North Depot Street in Sandusky.

23-year-old Amir Ashakih faces charges of cocaine possession and trafficking, OVI, and fleeing and eluding.

A dedication and open house event has been planned for the new Vermilion Fire Station #1.

It will take place May 15th at 12 noon at the corner of Devon and Douglas Streets.

Speakers will be on hand, tours will be offered and refreshments will be available.

A road work project starts up this week in Erie County.

Route 4, just south of Fox Road, will be closing today for a culvert replacement.

Work is expected to be complete on Friday.

There will be no on-street parking on Marian Drive this week due to sidewalk repair and installation.

New work today on Colorado Avenue…

Colorado will be closed at “F” Street for ‘water work’.

A detour will be posted…

The new month brings new work on I-90 in Avon.

Crews will be rebuilding the bridges over the railroad tracks between

Route 6-11 and French Creek Road.

Work will continue through July of 2022…
