The National Park Service is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the person who attacked a female runner in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Sagamore Hills, on the border of Cuyahoga and Summit counties.

The attack happened at about 11:30am this past Sunday.

The runner fought off the man and escaped.

The national park trail is a popular place for hikers, runners and bicyclists.

 

Sandusky authorities are trying to identify a suspect involved in a reported armed robbery Sunday night.

According to the Sandusky Register, a suspect pulled out what looked to be a real handgun and demanded money.

Police say a cashier gave the unknown suspect some money and then fled on foot.

 

The U-S Marshall’s Office has named a resident of Lorain, their Fugitive of the Week.

40-year-old Jose Mercado of Garfield Avenue is consider a suspect, in a shooting on Iowa Avenue.

The Marshall’s Office considers Mercado, armed and dangerous.

 

Columbia Gas hopes to restore service today, to those who have been without service since this past weekend in Wellington.

Crews have been going door-to-door since Sunday, after repairs were made to a leaking gas line.

 

This is Winter Safety Awareness Week…which serves as a reminder for all Ohioans to take steps to be better prepared for winter before it is too late.

Huron County Public Health is offering these tips from the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness…

-Practice fire safety and prevention; as people are home more in the winter.

-Prepare your home; such as having your gutters cleaned.

-Prepare winter emergency supplies kits for the home and vehicle.

-Check on your neighbors.

-Check your homeowners or renter’s insurance.

 

The Sandusky Police Department continues their “Coffee with a Cop” series Wednesday morning.

Residents can stop by the Sandusky Library lobby from 10:30 to 11:30 am where they can ask questions and voice concerns with members of local law enforcement.
